A

NameDescription
Address (i.e. Wallet)A cryptocurrency wallet is a software program in which that cryptocurrency is stored. Technically, cryptocurrencies aren't not stored anywhere. For every wallet, there is a Private key (secret string of numbers and letters) corresponding to the Public address (the shareable ID) of that wallet. Cryptocurrency wallets facilitate the sending and receiving of cryptocurrencies and give ownership of the balance to the user who controls the private key.
Ask PriceAsk Price is the price that a Maker sets for a given asset. For example, if a user is trying to sell BTC for ETH, they will reflect the total amount of BTC being sold in terms of ETH: 3 BTC could be sold for an Ask Price of 40 ETH per BTC.

B

NameDescription
Base FeeBase Fee is an amount set by the Maker of an Auction Overline order and specifies the Overline token amount that a Taker must commit in order to take an Auction Overline order.
Bid PriceBid Price is the price the Taker sets for how much they would like to pay for a given asset pair, in terms of the asset the user would like to buy. For example, a user may want to buy .5 ETH and has DAI in his Portfolio. He can set a Bid Price in his order for .5 ETH at a bid price of 250 DAI per ETH. If an order that can be fulfilled exists, the Taker will be matched with that Maker and the order will be executed.
BSEC WalletA BSEC Wallet is the standard wallet format for Overline. When creating a BSEC Wallet, you will create multiple addresses which are important for the growth of the network. These are all stored in a "wallet.json" file upon creation. Overline tokens, Emblems, and Leased Emblems will all share the "BC Address" as both their public and private keys. For example, if you want to import a BSEC Wallet for an interchange session via private key, you must use the private key from the BC Address.

C

NameDescription
Connection SettingsConnection Settings is a section which allows you to choose between Manual Connection through your own miner for the connection to the Overline network or to use Automatic Connection which assigns you a randomly selected secure miner to begin your interchange session. The Overline interchange does not host anything related to trade, everything is stored on chain, hence the need to be connected during all sessions.
Consolidate UTXOsConsolidating UTXOs in the Overline wallet allows you to have more control over your Overline token transactions. When your avg. outgoing payment is larger than your avg. incoming payment, you’ll often have to combine many UTXOs in order to fund an outgoing transaction, which increases the size of your transactions and therefore the fees you may need to pay. By consolidating UTXOs in advance, you can combine inputs ahead of time, giving you more control over when most of those costs are incurred.
Create WalletCreating a wallet in the Portfolio gives you the ability to Create then Import a brand new wallet for any of the child chains. This wallet (via a .json file) will be automatically saved to your device. It is STRONGLY recommended that you take the time to properly secure this wallet, as there is no way for you to recover it if you lose that file and the private keys therein.

E

NameDescription
Emblems (EMB)Emblems (EMB) are the utility coins of Overline. If you are mining Overline tokens, Emblems attached to your mining address significantly increase the size of your mining reward. Miners who own Emblems earn more Overline tokens per block as a bonus and can issue larger blocks with more transactions. Emblems are currently not able to be traded on the interchange. Read more here: What is Overline, EMB, and L-EMB?

H

NameDescription
Home (sectionThe Home tab is the trading section of the Overline interchange UI, this is where you can view order books, place orders, and interact with past orders.

I

NameDescription
Import WalletImporting a wallet into the Portfolio is the process of taking a private key/passphrase or a previously downloaded .json file, and uploading it to your interchange session. By importing a wallet, you will have access to trade and manage the contents of that wallet on the Overline interchange.

L

NameDescription
Leased Emblems (L-EMB)A Leased Emblem (L-EMB) is an ownership contract token correlating 1 to 1 with an Emblem. They are created when the original Emblem owner decides to convert their Emblem into a L-EMB. L-EMB can be traded to any party until they are executed, which allows the lease owner to gain the mining rewards of the original Emblem. The Emblem Lease contract automatically handles the temporary transfer of ownership for the correlating EMB to the owner of the Leased Emblem for the pre-set duration of the lease. Read more here: What is Overline, EMB, and L-EMB?

M

NameDescription
MakerA trade order is considered a Maker Order if the trade order is not matched immediately against an order already on the order book, which adds liquidity.
Manual ConnectionManual Connection is a setting in the Connection Settings, accessible by clicking the three connection bars on the top right of the window. This setting allows for users to access the interchange by running their own Overline miner. You will need to list your Miner URL, Port, and your Secure Cookie.
Market PickerMarket Picker is where a user can pick between Overline pair markets(Auction) or non-Overline pair markets (Bid/Ask).
MempoolBy sending Overline or sending a cross chain trade, users are submitting multi chain transactions that must be confirmed by the Overline protocol. The Mempool is the running list of pending transactions have not been confirmed and added to the Overline blockchain by miners.
Miner PortThe Miner Port is the specific port where you miner is running. If you are running it remotely and designate the port in your remote address, this can be left blank. Will default to "3000".
Miner Secure CookieThe unique secure cookie ("scookie" in the run command) you entered when running your miner if you followed the Mining Tutorial. Read more here: Tutorial: Overline Miner
Miner URLThe Miner URL the address of the Overline miner that you are running, from the beginning of these instructions. This is will usually, and by default, be "localhost".

N

NameDescription
Overline (token)Overline the underlying coin of the entire multichain ecosystem built using the Overline Protocol. It is earned by miner's who win Overline blocks. It's primary use case is to collateralize and thereby de-risk trades on the Overline interchange. Read more here: What is Overline, EMB, and L-EMB?

O

NameDescription
Order BookThe Order Book shows all open orders placed by Makers which have yet to be taken. Users can automatically fill orders from the Order Book by clicking on an Open Order. Orders are removed from the Order Book by the entire order getting taken or the Order Lifespan expiring.

Q

NameDescription
QR CodeViewing the QR Code within the Portfolio turns your unique public address into a QR code which can be read and interpreted by smart phones or smart scanning technology and is purposed as a means of sharing a user's Public address. Scanning a QR Code is a way for you to input a public address to send tokens from your wallet to the address associated to that QR Code.

S

NameDescription
Session PasswordThe Session Password will be used during your session to confirm actions like making and taking trades or transferring tokens in the Portfolio and will be session specific. Think of this as a required security measure that adds a unique, time-sensitive extra layer of security for your interchange activity, which will need to be reset if you log out.
SettlementSettlement is the setting that will allow you, as a Maker, to determine how long both parties of the trade have to fulfill their respective sides of that order. The settlement window begins when a Taker accepts a trade.

T

NameDescription
TakerA trade order is considered a Taker Order if the trade order is matched immediately against an order already on the order book, which removes liquidity.
Trade LifespanThe Trade Lifespan is a setting controlling the amount of time, in terms of Overline blocks, that a Maker will wait for a Taker to accept their trade before the offer is taken off the Order Book. Trades that are placed but unmatched after the Trade Lifespan will be sent to the Unmatched Orders section on the Marketplace page.
Transaction HashThe Transaction Hash is the chain-specific unique string of characters that is given to every transaction that is verified and added to the respective blockchain. In the Portfolio and Marketplace, this Transaction Hash is clickable and will take you to the respective block explorer for that transaction.
Tx FeeTransaction Fee (Tx Fee) is the amount required to pay to the Overline miner who facilitates the transaction on the Overline network. NOTE: this fee does not go to the internal team, but to the mining network.

U

NameDescription
UTXOsUTXO stands for the unspent output from token transactions. Each token transaction begins with coins used to balance the blockchain ledger. UTXOs are processed continuously and are responsible for beginning and ending each transaction. Confirmation of transaction results in the removal of spent coins from the UTXO database, but a record of the spent coins still exists on the ledger.

W

NameDescription
Wallet (tab)The Wallet section of the Overline interchange is the native method of managing all relevant tokens in the Overline ecosystem. Users can view, send, and receive inter-chain transactions for a particular address.
